Do You Have The Right People To Organize Your Event

Jenny Jones would never have considered she had any skill when it comes to running seminars. She was just quietly and competently doing her job when she was asked to organize an event to help promote the services that her company provides. Fortunately for her, she recognized instantly that she did not have all of the necessary skills herself and, by borrowing some tips from her recruitment experience, amongst other things, she saved herself from a great deal of stress and put together a team that delivered the goods, and more.

Almost before doing anything else, she recognized that, as the event organizer she should draw up a list of the numbers and types of people she needed in order to deliver the seminar. Against each job, she noted the competencies that are important for success in that role and any other traits that she felt would enhance the potential for crowning glory.

You’ll note that Jenny did not produce a list of names. That can be an easy trap to fall into, especially if yours is a large organization. Instead of deciding what you need for success, you will be working out who not to offend by leaving

In Mogadishu, Coke Is Branded As The Infidel Thing

Islamic militants who have taken over in Mogadishu and dropped the dark veil of medievalism over the minds of the citizenry have branded Coca-Cola as un-Islamic.

A hard-line sheik has declared that Westerners are enemies of Islam and their products should not be consumed.

The man has followers. One, who owns a tea shop, said, “Out of ignorance, I was selling and drinking Coca-Cola, but now I hate it so much.’

Pointing to various rules regarding beverages that grace the Koran, the militants point out that Mohammed states, “There is only one beverage, and it’s name is water.” They maintain that, In another place, the Prophet notes, “Things don’t go better with Coke; it makes me burp.” Finally, they say he reveals, “The infidels invented Coke, and true believers never imitate the infidels, except when I took ideas from Moses and Jesus, but remember: I always gave them credit, or at least as much as I could stand to give them.”

As a result, the one factory that represents a drop of modernity in the impoverished burg is in danger of being shut entirely. Sales are down markedly, because many of the citizenry believe in the soft-drink wisdom of their

7 Attributes of a Successful Fashion Model

Have you ever looked at a successful model and said, “I am just as beautiful as this girl so I think I’ll become a supermodel.”

I would like to clarify one thing and please listen carefully …

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A NATURAL-BORN MODEL!!!

Yes, some people have a natural beauty and some learn more quickly than others. I’ll agree that these attributes are important. But, I’ll say it again – There is no such thing as a natural-born model.

If you believe this, let me ask you a question. Do you believe there is such a thing as a natural-born surgeon? Do you think that the most famous surgeon in the medical profession was born to be a doctor? I guess when he was delivered the doctor who brought him into this world said, “Look!!! It’s a surgeon!!” I don’t think so.

For this man to become this famous surgeon, it took many years of education, internship, and watching other doctors before he was even considered to do actual surgery. I’m really glad he did, aren’t you?

And, even after all these grueling years this doctor still was not guaranteed to become well-known in the medical

The Potential Hazards of Taking Birth Control Pills

When considering options to prevent pregnancy without sacrificing intercourse by abstaining, both men and women have a multitude of options. For men, the most commonly mentioned way to prevent conception would be the condom. While not always an accepted method of contraception in various territories (usually because of ridiculous cultural norms or even more ridiculous religions ones), it is among the most widely used in the world. For women, the most commonly used method would likely be birth control pills, which usually encounter the same religion-fueled objections that condoms do, but are less likely to earn a culture-inspired dislike. However, medically speaking, there might be some problems for women who regularly use birth control pills.

Soothing Facts on Topical Pain Relief Medications

The skin is the largest organ of the human body. It serves as a protective water barrier, regulates temperature, controls fluid loss, and performs many other functions important to healthy internal balance. Skin is comprised of many layers supported by an intricate blood supply. The blood vessels pass below the skin in a framework of connective tissue, fat, and fascia. Below that layer lays the bone and muscle. It also contains nerve endings which carry touch, temperature, and pain signals from the skin to the spinal cord and on to the brain.

Sex Can Be Addictive

In the movie Blades Of Glory, the character Chazz Michael Michaels, played by actor Will Ferrel, was a self-confessed sex addict. For those who do not believe in the possibility of people being addicted to sex, Will Ferrel’s character would surely be just fictional. However, one episode of The Tyra Banks Show also discussed sexual addiction and even had guests who openly admitted to being sex-addicts. What was more surprising is the fact that one of their guests is only 14 years old and she confessed to being a sex addict since she was 12. Though hard to believe, it is actually true that some people get addicted to sex. How or why this happens will be discussed later on in this article. A person, especially those who engage in frequent sex, might wonder how he or she can determine if his or her behavior is already considered an addiction or not. Characteristics that differentiate sex addicts from those who are just sexually active are also included in this article. Sexual addiction is considered a mental health problem and is very similar to other forms of addiction such as those with alcoholics and drug addicts. Like

“Starbucks-China” Blend: A Slam Dunk Grande

Admittedly, there are few genuine cant miss propositions. But Ive got one for you, Starbucks in China. Giant corporations being granted carte blanche in a totalitarian environment are reminiscent of an age when kings granted exclusive licensing for fur trapping. Starbucks has the product, the relationships, and with some nimble campaigning theyll have the ubiquitous branding in no time. It will be game, set, match if it isnt already.

China is the emerging powerhouse economy in the world today, but it is not a free-for-all for foreign companies. Many companies, in America and elsewhere, would maintain it to be quite the opposite. China has garnered a reputation for being rather lax in its enforcement of intellectual property laws. Tech companies in particular, such as Microsoft, have been frustrated in seeing their handiwork pirated in China. You may add golf club manufacturers, music companies, movie studios and any number of industries to the list of the aggrieved.

And then theres Starbucks, our giant American caffeinery. Im looking at a franchise right now from my office at ICMediaDirect.com in the Empire State Building. Its always busy, filled with sightseers. Did you know that theres a franchise at the Great Wall?

Paper Certificates or Street Ownership? Is one safer?

When you buy stock in a publicly traded company, you become a shareholder and are entit.ed to own a stock certificate of ownership, if the company issues those. In the past, some of these certificates have become collectible works of art or memorabilia, as companies put extra effort into producing attractive looking documents. Stock certificates usually look sort of like a university diploma, with lots of fancy writing and the logo of the company proudly displayed. But what is more important than what they look like is what they represent in terms of ownership rights and rewards.

If you own stock in a company, the company will usually make a record of your ownership and in that way, if you were to lose your actual certificates, you could still make a claim to ownership and have it verified by a search of the companys stockholder records. But even so, it is a good policy to store stock certificates in a safe place like a bank deposit box, to prevent anything from happening to them in the event of a theft, fire, or other calamity.

But most people who now own stock never see their certificates, because the ownership is

Using Therapy Lights or SAD Lights To Improve Your Health

Bringing the sunshine indoors. That is how some people describe the benefits of therapy lights. Scientists believe that simulated bright light has an effect on chemicals in your brain and your skin and can be used to help some conditions. There are many different types of therapy lights so I’m going to described some of them and the disorders they can be used with:

Light boxes (Phototherapy or bright light therapy)

Many therapists have noticed that sitting near a simulated sunlight box can alleviate symptoms for some complaints. The strength of the light should be at least 2,500lux and daily exposure is required. Remember that a medical practitioner must prescribe the strength and type of light used as well as the duration of exposure.

SAD Lights

Otherwise known as Seasonal Affective Disorder or its mildest form ‘Winter Blues’. You don’t have to be a genius to know that we all feel better during the long sunny days of summer. We seem to have more energy too. You lose some of that enthusiasm in the winter when there are not so many daylight hours. Some people get ‘winter blues’ which makes them feel lethargic and ‘under the weather’, with

Allergy Season: It’s Nothing To Sneeze At

Almost 40 million Americans face seasonal allergies, which usually begin in the spring and can last through the first frost. They’re often triggered by pollens, molds or other airborne allergens. According to the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology, Americans spend as much as $4.5 billion annually on medications and doctor visits to treat their allergies.

The first step in treatment is to reduce exposure to specific allergens. If that’s not possible, managing symptoms through medication is often next.

Here are some tips to help control your allergies:

Know Your Triggers: To avoid an allergen, you need to know what it is. Physicians can determine what you’re allergic to by reviewing your personal and medical history or doing a physical exam. In some cases a skin, patch or blood test may be used to confirm suspected allergens.

Create a Sneeze-free Environment: A few changes at home can make a difference. Use an air conditioner whenever possible, make your home “dust mite” unfriendly by vacuuming often, use hypoallergenic products and check pollen counts before going out. If they’re high, stay inside.

Find the Right Remedy: Antihistamines reduce symptoms and work best if taken before exposure to

Just recently, a South American teenage model died of suspected malnutrition. That sad news topped the headlines and stunned the fashion industry. It happened just six months after her size zero sister starved herself to death on a diet of lettuce leaves and Diet Coke. Like her elder sister, preliminary indications suggest that she died suddenly of a heart attack, as a result of malnutrition. In response to these incidents, ultra-thin or size zero models were barred from participating in the Madrid Fashion Week 2006. Organizers of the fashion show for the Milan leg also followed suit.
